Breaking News: University of Melbourne Drops Interviews for Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) Program –

2025.07.16

Hello everyone! Big updates for the 2026 Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) program at the University of Melbourne:

Key Changes:

No More MMI Interviews! The university has officially replaced Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) with the CASPer test for applicant assessment.

Simplified Process: Submit your application first—no need to prepare for multiple interview rounds upfront!

Program Details:

Campus: Parkville (central Melbourne, not regional)

Duration: 3 years (February intake)

Tuition (2025): AU$64,000/year

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (completed within the last 10 years, any major accepted)

Prerequisite Subjects: At least one human anatomy + one physiology course (or equivalent)

CASPer Test: No initial score submission required. If your GPA meets the threshold, the university will schedule your CASPer test in September. Final offers consider both GPA and CASPer results.

English Requirements:

IELTS: Overall 7.0 (Writing 7.0, other bands ≥6.0)

PTE: Overall ≥65 (Writing ≥65, other bands ≥50)

TOEFL: Overall ≥94 (Writing ≥27, Reading/Listening ≥13, Speaking ≥18)

Why This Matters:

✅ Less Stress: CASPer is more flexible than high-pressure interviews.
✅ Faster Processing: Early applicants with strong GPAs get priority.
✅ Advantage for Qualified Candidates: If you’ve already taken anatomy/physiology and meet academic/English requirements, this change boosts your chances significantly!
